At the official Opening of the long awaited Scottish Parliament on 1st July 1999. The delivery of a Scottish Parliament was one of the central planks of the Government’s programme. The early referendum in September 1997 confirmed that the people in Scotland were full square behind the idea.

The Parliament is part of the Partnership within the UK that will bring Government closer to the People in Scotland. Anne McGuire MP and Sylvia Jackson MSP share a parliamentary Advice Office to ensure the most effective representation for people in this constituency. The small dedicated team Graham, Sarah, Paul and Heather are always available to take your enquiries on any aspect of either the UK or Scottish Parliament issues.
